Inclusive led bike rides for women in Weymouth

A few months ago a lady approached me in the café to chat to me about Breeze rides. Breeze is a programme by British Cycling that offers fun and friendly bike rides for women of all abilities across the UK. I had never heard of it! But was certainly interested in hearing more.

The lady introduced herself as Jo and she was a Breeze Champion, a volunteer who led the bike rides. Jo explained that women can search local cycle rides in their local area online, where you can to book on and join the group for a cycle ride.

I fancied the idea of a bike ride, as I had recently bought a second hand electric bike, so I signed up for one. In September I cycled on my first Breeze ride, 23 miles on my electric bike to Kingston Maurward and back! It was great fun and although I felt a bit nervous that first time , once I was on my bike pedalling the nerves went.

All the ladies were really nice and we sat and chatted in the café before cycling home. We cycled along all the back roads so they were much quieter and safer for the group.
