Dorchester Strollers
The Dorchester Strollers were formed in July 2003 and is run by volunteers. Walks start at different points in Dorchester and usually finish with a sociable tea or coffee.
The Dorchester Strollers were formed in July 2003 and is run by volunteers. They are a friendly group which offers a variety of free walks in Dorchester, with trained leaders and backmarkers on Monday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. The walks are free and suitable for all ages. Each week, participants are able to choose from a one hour fairly brisk walk or a shorter, slower walk of up to 45 minutes. If you aren’t sure which walk to try, Strollers recommend that you start with the shorter walk, especially if you are new to walking, or returning to walking following an illness or injury.
Walking is a great way of building a little more movement into your day. Not only is walking good for you, it helps you feel more connected to your community by meeting new people, which often helps to make you feel better within yourself.
Amanda Gallaher, Dorchester Strollers:
“It’s an excuse to come out, meet people, and have a lovely chat. It’s brilliant for people of all ages too.”

” It’s just about getting people moving and doing something social. It is really good for peoples physical health and mental health too.”

“If I walk down the street in Dorchester, I see lots of people I know, mostly because they are Strollers!
