Movement matters most when we are young.

The Healthy Movers programme

Too many children don’t get to experience the joy, wellbeing, and sense of purpose of movement. In Dorset, only 53.3% children and young people are moving enough to stay healthy. This means 46.7% aren’t doing enough activity across the week.

We know from Sport England’s Uniting the Movement that if children and young people have experiences that feel fun, positive and give them a sense of confidence, they’re more likely to want to be active in the future.

The Healthy Movers programme provides training and support to people who work with young children, and Primary School teachers. It aims to improve their skills and confidence in supporting children with the opportunity to improve their development while helping with their speech, language, communication and emotional wellbeing.
