New Activity Finder
We are building a movement to give people from all communities and backgrounds equal opportunities to move more, in ways that work best for them.
Our new Activity Finder allows Dorset residents to find activities and events near them. Whether they are new to getting active or looking for new ways to move more, the Activity Finder allows them to find and book a variety of classes, many of them for free
Thanks to open data, it’s now easier than ever to add your sessions to the platform.
Ready to sig
- OpenActive allows your activities to feature across different websites, apps and platforms, instantly. You no longer have to upload information or agree partnerships one at a time. It’s basically free marketing!
- Some Open Active users have reported a 10-25% increase in attendance.
- Low effort and high reward
- In addition to being listed on our activity finder your sessions could also be listed on National Governing Bodies’ club finders or activity finders for national campaigns like This Girl Can, and Change for Life.
Why not read some case studies on how Open Data has improved participation numbers.
Our finder is powered by Opendata, a set of data standards that allows activities to be shared openly and freely, without the need for duplicating across different websites. When you post with Opendata, your activity will be seen by thousands, across a range of activity finder platforms.
In the physical activity sector, activity providers open their systems to share details of their sessions, such as date, times, available facilities or the difficulty level of a class. This system is known as Open Active.
No personal information is shared, and booking is still completed via your website or normal route. It is free additional marketing for your business.
Thanks to our partners at Energize Me, here is a comprehensive list of providers and how to open your data with them. If your current provider isn’t listed below, you can still upload your activities directly to Open Sessions.
